Lake District 2021

The Lake District was a beautiful family holiday staying in a surrean valley. I did not find there was a huge amount of obvious photography opportunities but I feel I managed to make the most of the opportunities that presented themselves. The week began with clear blue skies and warm sunshine – weird for the Lake District! We arrived after a dry spell and the streams and waterfalls were all dried up and the mountains were glowing in the bright sunshine.

I have found this type of weather is not typically great for landscape photography but sunset and sunshine boasted some nice colours.

As the familar clouds returned above the mountain tops, I started to see some great light beams squeeze there way through the clouds and over the valley.

And then came the rain! So sudden and unexpected we got caught out by terrential rain with our summer clothes on a walk by esther river. The streams returned and the clouds returned to their angry state.
